What you're about to read is the truth on how I got to this point in my life with my business.
It starts when I was about 5 or 6 years old.
I sorry going to crash shows with my mom on weekends, so she could sell things that she made. I like doing that with her. She had no boss, she was her own boss. She had no one to answer to accept herself. That's what I like the most about doing craft shows and festivals.
That's when I decided when I got older I was somehow, someway I would start my own business. That way I have no one to answer to accept myself. I would be a list set my own hours and two and sell what ever I wanted to.
I started working when I was 15 years old is a waitress, I was really good added. I made really really good tips. I would have in six days of work I would have in my pocket around $500 in tips alone not including my check. Besides that job I've done other jobs also, to mention a few I didn't do telemarketing which I hated, cold calls, Althorp for Carl for a while. Up until I was 21 years old. That's when I said enough. At that point I wasn't sure what I was going to Knox. I was done working for someone else.
What happened next in my life I didn't expect to it all. Back up until I was 16 years old. I ended up getting married and having two kids. Divorce was within three years the year after I was of worse I met a really good man, believe me I wasn't looking. I have bought a fake wedding ring, so no man would bother me. That way when I was ready to start dating then I would take off that fake wedding ring.
I'm not going to say how we met all I know is that we met on a Sunday night we dated for two weeks at the end of that two weeks he asked me to marry him. By the end of that week we were married.
We only knew each other for 2 1/2 weeks and now it's going on 18 years of marriage with 6 kids and 9 grandkids
Since July 1995, I been a born again Christian. I have put my business into Christian values.
Then in 1997, I decided when I was a little girl I wanted to have my own business. So in 1997 I deceided to start my own business. So at first I tried all different things. None of those things worked, I finally found something that worked.
Now it wasn't a product that you market yourself and try to resell on the Internet. Yes I had very little money, I started by sending a few hundred to start in have to pay a yearly fee to keep my membership. Yes I still belong to the same club I guess started back in 1997. I wasn't making tons of money, but I was making money. I started buying some of the products they had and started doing festivals and craft shows. But I wasn't totally happy with everything they had so I looked for other companies that I could sell the merchandise, But I found out, so I had to look for other companies for merchandise that I was interested in selling. I bought what I found from them that I knew would sell.
Over the years I've added more things to what I sell. But when I got started with the first company I bought a lot of the products I wasn't sure what people were looking for at first.
Since 1997, basically if I knew now what I knew then in 1997. I would of spent a lot less money on things that didn't sell, and a lot more money on things that are selling out that my customers like to buy. I still do craft shows and festivals every year, I even asked my customers what they are interested in seeing something and I have them e-mail me or call me so I can find the product for them.
I still love doing festivals and craft shows that's how I got started and I'm still doing them because I love doing them and don't think I'm going to stop.
But now I just don't want to festivals and crash shows. This is why I have this website, so I can make money throughout the year. Not just during the season that only lasts about eight months out of the year.
